2. Cleveland Guardians Stud: The rotation

Shane Bieber was an Amed Rosario missed fly ball away from sailing through five innings in the series opener. He went 4.2 innings and fanned four, walking nobody. I know there were some concerns over his velocity and spin rate, but I think we’ve just got to let him build up his workload.

It’s been well written how starting pitchers across the league are going to be handled with kid gloves, as they didn’t get to make as many starts as they usually do in spring training.

Zach Plesac went the furthest of any starter, going 5.2 in the Saturday tilt. He got a no decision as the game wasn’t undecided until extra innings, a game the Guardians lost, 1-0 in the 10th.

Cal Quantrill picked up where he left off 2021, throwing five scoreless innings while allowing just two runs off four hits.
