2. C Alex Mack, 2009 – 21st Overall
Many people seem to forget that not only was Alex Mack one of the best offensive linemen for the Browns during his tenure, but he’s also arguably one of the best of all time. People often forget about Mack when they talk about all-time great Cleveland Browns players and that’s largely because, well, it felt like he never wanted to be here.
He tried to leave the Browns in 2014 to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars of all teams, but the Browns matched his contract offer. He was reportedly none too pleased about that and demanded a void year in his contract. So when that year came up in 2016, he exercised that option and went to Atlanta.
The Football Gods are cruel, however, and despite going to the Super Bowl, he was a part of the biggest comeback of all time, just on the other side of it as the New England Patriots came back from 28-3 to win it all.
He’s weighing his future as part of the San Francisco 49ers currently, but should he call it a career, he’d be a seven-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro, and a member of the 2010 NFL All-Decades team.
That’s good enough to get into the Hall of Fame in my book (and many others).
