Cleveland Browns Week 1: Win at Carolina (1-0)

The Week 1 winless streak finally ends with the Browns winning at Carolina, in what’s one of the more favorable Opening Day’s in the franchise’s recent history.

Had the Browns traded Baker Mayfield to Carolina, this would have been one of the biggest games of the year, considering Mayfield is Capt. Chip-on-the-Shoulder guy. Perhaps he still ends up there, but the Panthers selection of Matt Corral would seem to extinguish that hope.

I like the Browns in this one, with Deshaun Watson or Jacoby Brissett under center. Sam Darnold will likely start Week 1, but the Panthers just don’t have the weapons to keep pace with what Kevin Stefanski has at his disposal.

Cleveland Browns Week 2: Win vs Jets (2-0)

The Jets are one of the more popular bets to make following the schedule release, with many putting early money on New York going over 5.5 wins.

That’s all well and good, but they’re not getting a victory in the Cleveland opener. Zach Wilson still has a ways to go and in Cleveland, he’ll face one of the toughest secondaries in the league with Myles Garrett breaking down his neck.
