Defense

Defensive Line (10)

Keep: Jadeveon Clowney, Miles Garrett, Chase Winovich, Alex Wright (R), Isaiah Thomas (R), Taven Bryan, Sheldon Day, Roderick Perry (R), Perrion Winfrey (R), Tommy Togiai
Cut: Isaac Rochell, Stephen Weatherly, Jordan Elliot, Glen Logan (R),

– I don’t think any of the rookies or second-year defensive players are in any real danger of being cut. Most of the names on here aren’t going to surprise people but one will, and that’s Jordan Elliot. Elliot has largely been a disappointment and considering the depth of young guys at the position, it’s hard to argue that Elliot has done enough to warrant a spot on the team. For the ends, there are really no surprises.

Linebackers (5)

Keep: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Anthony Walker Jr., Sione Takitaki, Jacob Phillips, Tony Fields
Cut: Silas Kelly (R), Dakota Allen

– As with the defensive ends, there aren’t any surprises here. The only thing that shakes up this prediction is if the Browns want to carry an 11th defensive back, which means Sione Takitaki, Jacob Phillips or Tony Fields could be axed. I don’t see that happening but it very well could.

Corners (5)

Keep: Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, Greg Newsome, Martin Emerson Jr (R), A.J. Green
Cut: Shaun Jolly (R), Herb Miller, Parnell Motley, Reggie Robinson

– The corners are pretty set. As in previous positions, Martin Emerson isn’t going to get cut, as he just got drafted, and AJ Green is getting rave reviews during camp. None of the other top three corners are in any danger of getting cut.

Safties (5)

Keep: John Johnson III, Grant Delpit, Ronnie Harrison, Richard LeCounte III, Jovante Moffatt
Cut: D’Anthony Bell (R), Luther Kirk IV,

– Unless the Browns bring in someone like Joe Haden to play safety, there’s no reason to suspect any major shocking cuts here. I have Jovante Moffatt making the team, but only because I think the team will carry five safeties, and why not him?
