3 Good and 3 bad from the Cleveland Browns survival of the Pittsburgh Steelers
By Chad Porto
The Good
The passing attack
Jacoby Brissett, Amari Cooper, and David Njoku all looked very good in yet another go around. Njoku for the third time in his career caught seven passes in the game, tying his career-high in the first half alone. He would surpass his own personal best with an additional two more, in the second half, finishing with nine total. Cooper went for over 100 yards for the second straight game and Brissett was able to manage two touchdowns.
Trusting the playmakers
Dialing up plays that give Nick Chubb, David Njoku, Kareem Hunt, and Amari Cooper opportunities to make plays is how this team is going to win games. It’s beyond obvious that they have to lean on them above everyone else, as it seems very apparent that some guys just aren’t in favor right now to have their number called.
Not giving up on the running game
Aside from a big 30+ yard run in the first quarter, the Browns’ rushing game did not look good very early. Instead of giving up on it as the Browns have been known to do under Kevin Stefanski in years past, the team continued to rely on that aspect of the team. Like last week, to an extent, the Browns were able to wear down the Steelers enough to make it effective.
