3 Eastern Conference players the Cleveland Cavaliers should trade for
By Chad Porto
Bojan Bogdanovic
Right off the bat, the upside of Bojan Bogdanovic over Hayward is that Bogdanovic is a better shooter (but barely) and far more known for his health. Yet, he’s also a worse defensive player than Hayward and isn’t a playmaker like Hayward.
So he’s not the first name you should want to pursue at this point but if you’ve settled on the idea that you can only improve one aspect of the Cavs, let it be their three-point shooting. Bogdanovic is among the type of guys who can recontextualize a team’s offense. Just look at what he’s doing in Detroit, with really only him doing it.
The Pistons are devoid of really good offensive talent and Bogdanovic is doing great work carrying the offense on his own. Sure, the team is garbage, but he’s doing great work with little-to-no help.
The fact the Cavs didn’t get him in the Donovan Mitchell trade is still odd, considering the Cavs needed him then, and he ended up being dealt to the Pistons for nothing special. His three-point shooting would be a huge asset for the Cavs and with the Pistons already dead and buried this season, could probably get him for pennies on the dollar.
