Jordan Kunaszyk

Between the starting lineup and injured reserve, the Cleveland Browns have a whopping 13 linebackers on the roster currently. As with 2020 and 2021, most of them are likely not coming back. Some may not be brought back due to not being the same player anymore, guys like Anthony Walker creep into that conversation.

Others may not be brought back because they aren’t an “Andrew Berry Guy”, like Sionne Takitaki. Others, like Reggie Ragland, may not be brought back due to him not fitting the style of defense the Browns want to play; dealing with a focus on pass coverage. You gotta keep somebody though, right?

If they don’t just overhaul the entire unit, I think Jordan Kunaszyk may be brought back. Not because he’s the best player or because he’s got great upside but because he doesn’t. That sounds odd, let’s explain.

Kunaszyk is what he is. A fine, but very average linebacker, who can fill in on special teams and be a good fourth or fifth linebacker on a team. He’s not someone you hope to start but he’s not someone you’re afraid to either.

If he has the right dollar figure, he’s a better option than oping a fifth-round draft pick pans out.
