5 Cleveland Browns who are on the bubble for a return in 2023
By Chad Porto
Greedy Williams
Greedy Williams has proven to be wildly inconsistent as a former second-round pick. Coming to the Cleveland Browns as the team’s top pick in the “Odell Draft Year”, Williams had lofty expectations on him. He was a second-round corner, who was too tall to miss it seemed. He was a big, physical player and the Browns needed that.
He had a rough rookie year, missed all of year two due to an injury, played well in 2021 after coming back from an injury and is again, having another rough year. He missed the first portion of the season due to injury and he’s been defensively inactive for the last three games, getting zero reps on that sid eof the ball and playing only on special teams.
Not only that, but three of the other games he did play on defense this year, he was barely on the field at all defensively. He’s been inconsistent and is oft-injured, yes. He’s also 6’2, 190 lbs, and is one of the best tacklers on the team. He has value, and if his contract demands aren’t too pricey, he should absolutely brought back.
He could even transition into a safety with how well he tackles, but that’s all up to the coaching staff and how they value him going forward.
