Larry Ogunjobi

No one should ever confuse Larry Ogunjobi for Warren Sapp, Chris Hovan, or Aaron Donald. He’s not that good, and he’s not that guy. He is, on his best day, an average starter in the NFL. That is an absolute upgrade over Jordan Elliot and Tommy Togiai, however. The Browns are in need of an absolute upgrade at the position but that upgrade may not come in the form of a Pro Bowler or a future Hall of Famer.

Sometimes you just need someone who can come in and not suck. That may seem like a low bar to clear but considering the team has employed guys like Malik McDowell, Malik Jackson in 2021, and Sheldon Richardson in 2020, sometimes just good enough is better than you could hope for.

Ogunjobi is not going to be the only guy you get to bolster the defensive tackles but he’ll likely be the oldest. He’s someone who knows the city, the division, and the offenses therewithin. That type of experience is invaluable. Bringing him in would seriously help bolster the run defense, and while he’s not an exceptional run defender, the previous guys who were on the line before him were just that much worse.
