Carl Nassib

The Browns need some size and strength on the edge, and Carl Nassib is a guy that the Browns could absolutely use. Nassib is someone the team can bring in to bolster the end positions on defense, especially with Jadevoen Clowney not expected back. Like with everyone on this list, Nassib isn’t, at least on his own, able to solidify a position that’s lacking depth and talent. He’s a part of the puzzle.

Re-signing a guy like Chase Winovich will help smooth out the position, on top of bringing back Nassib, but even then you’re still looking at drafting a rookie in the third or fourth round. It may not be the most vaunted group of guys to invest in, but with the financial situation being what it is, you gotta make improvements in any way possible.

Nassib is a good pass-rusher and can get after the quarterback, but his real strength is his run-stopping skillset. That’s something the Browns need to improve upon. It’s not all on the defensive line to improve, however. The team needs a big thumper at middle-linebacker as well, but if you make the moves around the end position then a guy like Nassib may be all you need to invest in during free agency to truly secure the defensive end spot.
