#26 – Brandin Cooks

With the 26th pick the Browns get a smaller but fast receiver in Cooks. While not exactly the same, those clamoring for DeSean Jackson should be intrigued by Cooks. He may not ever put together seasons like Jackson but he could provide the same dynamic threat. With Cooks and Josh Gordon taking the lid off the defense deep Andrew Hawkins and Jordan Cameron, as well as Ben Tate on screens and swing passes, would have a lot of room to work with.

Not adding a quarterback, cornerback or offensive lineman will make many unhappy. Yet the team seems focused on upgrading the talent base, not position specific picks. Whether that works out in their favor, or is yet again long term planning, is yet to be seen. Adding high level talent in Clowney and Cooks would give the team impact players who should quickly add to the team’s success, even if wins do not follow.
