Sunday Superlatives:

Game MVP: Josh Lambo, Kicker for the San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers may have led the attack, but Josh Lambo sealed the deal. Tramon Williams gave him a second chance to earn a win for the Chargers. When you win it, you get the honors.

Play of the Day: Gary Barnidge Diving Sideline Catch

Barnidge’s sideline catch and favorable challenge call gave Browns fans everywhere hope. We could go with the game ending field goal mentioned above, but in the interest of the cardiac health of every Browns fan alive, we’ll try to stay positive.

Under the Radar Player of the Game: The Chargers Offensive Line

Down three starters, all this makeshift group did was pave the way for 438 yards and a win, all while surrendering only two sacks and generally keeping Rivers safe all day. This group of no name players outperformed the highly regarded Browns offensive line en route to a win.

The Loss by the Numbers:

4-13: was the 3rd down conversion rate on the day for the Browns. They had actually been pretty solid all season, sitting around 45% but against San Diego, 4-13 just didn’t quite make it.

34:19 was the time of possession for the Browns on the day, a stat that they have led in all four of their games this season.

91: the number of rushing yards gained by the Chargers. This was easily the lowest amount allowed by Cleveland’s defense in quite some time.

0: the number in every line of NT Danny Shelton‘s box score, as the rookie defensive lineman still has not made much of an impact.
