2019 NFL mock draft: Cleveland Browns trade back into 1st round in version 4.0
By Mike Graham
Picks 28-32
28. Cleveland-Johnathan Abram-SS-Mississippi St.-TRADE-Browns climb into the first round ahead of Kansas City, giving up the No. 49 overall pick and a 2020 2nd rounder to pick up Johnathan Abram, an enforcer in the secondary.
The Browns can bring Abram along slowly thanks to the recent additions of Justin Burnett and Eric Murray. As a first-round pick, though, it’s reasonable to assume Abram will compete for a starting job in Training Camp.
29. Kansas City-Elgton Jenkins-G/C-Mississippi St-KC would have taken Abram here, but stay in Starkville to take Elgton Jenkins. The Chiefs started old friend Cam Erving last season, so interior depth is a need.
30. Green Bay-Noah Fant-TE-Iowa–Noah Fant provides the stretch weapon the Packers desire for Aaron Rodgers.
31. Los Angeles Rams-Byron Murpyh-CB-Washington-The Rams are showing some age in the defensive backfield (Talib) and Byron Murphy is my highest rated corner left on the board at this point.
32. New England-Dexter Lawrence-DT-Clemson-Belichick traded for Danny Shelton last year, Lawrence can stuff the run but is much more athletic than Shelton. I think the Patriots look to round 2 for a receiver.
