Even before the racial slurs and attacking fans occurred, Jermaine Whitehead‘s stock was plummeting.

The safety, who claimed to be playing with a broken hand, missed three huge tackles en route to the Browns embarrassing themselves again, losing for the fourth straight game.

Whitehead was talked up as someone who could help the Browns transition to a 4-2-5 base defensive scheme. It’s a scheme, frankly, no one should want to see again, yet Wilks seemed to cling to.

That’s why it was surprising to see Wilks go more with a 4-3 base, using Whitehead in various safety roles as Justin Burris got some action with Damarious Randall out with injury.

Even with the switch, the defense reminded everyone that the unit is one of the worst in the league at stopping the run, courtesy of two Phillip Lindsay runs, which went for 40 and 30 yards, respectively.

As for Whitehead, this may be the last time he finds himself on a stock report. The stuff that  is reported to have come from Whitehead’s Twitter account might very well end his career in Cleveland, if in fact it was him Tweeting.
