3. Blazers give Hassan Whiteside, Nassir Little, Zach Collins

I’ve seen Cedi Osman, and a Cavlier playoff team won’t have him in their starting five anytime in the future. Yes, Cedi is a fan favorite, but he may be better suited to come off the bench.

So, if given the opportunity to add Nassir Little, the Cavs should listen, according to Forbes Evan Dammarell.

Little was rated as the third best prospect in the class of 2018 when he signed on to play at UNC   His stock fell at UNC and he ended up going 25th in last summer’s draft after being routinely mocked as a lottery pick.

He’s really struggling in the early going, but he’s still a building block.  Plus, he plays wing and those are valuable commodities. For a team heavily invested in two small guards, it would be nice to get some potential at the three spot.

As for Zach Collins, the third-year veteran is on the shelf for awhile after undergoing labrum surgery. The Gonzaga product can’t contribute right now, but the 7-footer will provided needed size down the road.

AS for Hassan Whiteside, the Cavs can either flip him for other assets for hang on to him, depending on what happens with Tristan Thompson. Thompson is a free agent at season’s end. The Cavs seem to want to try and make an extension happen, but nothing concrete has been reported.

The young players are intriguing building blocks, but the under perfromance/injury situations would have to see Cleveland leave this deal with Portland’s first round pick.
