3. Rockets, Hornets give Clint Capela, MKG, draft pick

This is a three-team deal as proposed by B/R’s Zach Buckley. The writer has Ben McLemore, Nene, Isaiah Hartenstein and a 2021 second-round pick (from HOU or PHI) heading to Charlotte to complete the deal.

The deal needs to be taken a step further from the Cavs perspective, though. Houston has some draft assets, so if they want Love, they better cough up a first rounder.

As for adding actual players, Capela, 25, is young enough where could be significant plays on Cavalier teams of the near future.

The Twitter cho chamber has the Cavs gunning for first-round picks, and they probably should in this case, but this is a team that already has two lottery picks and four players from the first round from over the past two years in Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Dylan Windler and Kevin Porter.

Unless you get lightning in a bottle and get the next LeBron James, you’re just adding a 19-year-old who is two or three years from starting to be a superstar.

Capela is under contract through the 2022-2023 season. He’s averaging 14.1 points and 14.7 rebounds per game. Imagine him next to Tristan Thompson! It’s worth noting his size, because the Cavs really need big guys, especially if they deal love.
