You might disagree with Colin Cowherd’s, at times, outlandish opinions but the Fox Sports host is claiming Odell Beckham wants out of Cleveland.

Colin Cowherd has come under fire from Cleveland Browns faithful from time to time and rightfully so. His opinions are at times outlandish and ‘baity’; designed intentionally to inflame the audience. He’s not a good guy in that regard. The term “inauthentic” is very much in play to describe Cowherd. However, one has to remember that just because he says nonsense, doesn’t mean he isn’t worried about his reputation. It’s easy to walk back an opinion with “I was wrong”, but to say you have a source, and then to claim something that isn’t true would be career-ending. He would lose all credibility. It is entirely unlikely that he’d make this up. So when he says that Odell Beckham wants out of Cleveland, there’s got to be some truth to that.

Why else would the team be shopping him so aggressively when the return is pennies on the dollar?

The rumors have been going on for as long as last season when speculation started to ramp up that Beckham could be traded by the deadline. That didn’t happen. Then there were rumors of him going to San Fransico shortly after the season ended. That didn’t happen. Now, on April 15, 2020, rumors are that the Browns and Vikings are talking about a deal that would send Becham to Minnesota.

The idea that Beckham is unhappy in Cleveland isn’t a surprising one. Beckham seems like an unhappy guy, who’s constantly getting himself into one situation after another. With the Browns coming in with what appears to be actual leadership in Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry, it seems like the days of Beckham playing childish games are done in Cleveland.

While fans have every right to dismiss Cowherd’s opinion on Cleveland, and it’s an admittedly bad take don’t get me wrong, they would be wise to separate the character Cowherd presents and the journalist he still is. He might not be the greatest guy, but he is still right about news stories more than he’s wrong. As Cowherd will remind you, he got Tom Brady to Tampa Bay right, and that Daniel Jones to the Giants would happen as well.

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that he isn’t sometimes right.
