Conclusion

All in all the Cleveland Browns played the game that was expected fo them. They ran it up Washington’s gut all day and set up Baker Mayfield to be able to complete some passes to make it harder to focus on one aspect or another. Mayfield’s two touchdowns and zero interception game were a nice sign of things to come and his ability to complete a good number of passes is encouraging, considering what fans saw last year from him through the first three games.

The defense is still pretty bad, but there are still some guys that are out, like Greedy Williams, Jacob Phillips, and Olivier Vernon and hopefully, when they come back, the team’s defense gets a bit better. The fact Dwayne Haskins carved them up so easily at times is concerning, and you have to wonder that if that was a more competent quarterback, who didn’t throw three interceptions, what would the team have looked like heading into that second half.

Against Dallas, you’re not going to be so lucky to have a game like this one. The Cowboys have a much better quarterback than Haskins, and their offense is pretty well put together, even if they are still putting in a new system. The defense, luckily, is pretty rank, and that could be the way the Browns win that game. Exploit the defense early, and then control the pace with a steady running game.

Let’s hope that the Browns continue this trend of “winning” into next week and can go 3-1. As a Browns fans, the only time we see a “1” and a “3” together in a record is when it’s a “1-3” and we’re all frankly tired of that.

Go Browns.
