3. Staying stout up the middle

Larry Ogunjobi is still on the injured list, but the expectation is that he’ll play against the Steeles in Week 6.

If he can play, the Browns are a force up the middle, as Ogunjobi teams with Sheldon Richardson on the defense interior.

With James Conner as the Steelers primary threat in the ground game, it’s paramount the Browns shut down anything Pittsburgh does via the rush. Stopping Ben Roesthlisberger is hard enough. It’ll be nice not to be gashed for 125 yards on the ground.

Olivier Vernon is also on the injured list, and was limited in Friday’s practice. The veteran actually had the Browns’ highest grade against the run last Sunday.

Vincent Taylor helped fill in last week for Ogunjobi and played 31 of Cleveland’s 56 defensive snaps, but drew a poor grade from PFF, with a mark of 37.3. Rookie Jordan Elliott had played well against the run in his first couple games, but only logged nine snaps against the Colts.
