Take #1: Baker Mayfield is a bad quarterback

This makes the list specifically to talk about Colin Cowherd and his fans’ opinions on Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. It’s long-established that Cowherd despises the Browns and when Baker was drafted to Cleveland in 2018, Cowherd shifted focus from hating the Browns overall to targeting Mayfield.

Now, out of respect for my readers and myself, I will not be quoting Mr. Cowherd, and instead will paraphrase most of his opinions. I refuse to give him clout off of this article. But basically, Cowherd takes issues with Baker’s attitude and energy on and off the field. The man rarely ever comments on Mayfield’s ability and instead chooses to criticize him based on his commercial appearances and his “swagger”.

Baker Mayfield is certainly not the next Brett Farve or Tom Brady, but he is a good quarterback. If he wasn’t, the Browns certainly wouldn’t be sitting at 7-3 right now. Baker has shifted his passing game to a shotgun offense this season, which has helped because we’ve seen him struggle to play in the pocket. Baker has helped take this team from a zero win team to an actual competitor in the AFC North.

I know that Baker is controversial in terms of the quarterback conversation, but he gets results. Those results may be mixed, but they’re results nonetheless.
