53. Pick Analysis. CB. 59. player. Scouting Report. Stanford. Paulson Adebo

"The Browns need some more size and depth at cornerback and Adebo fits the profile well for Woods. – Iyer"

Like Azeez Ojulari, Paulson Adebo is a position of need, but not as in need as defensive tackle or safety. While Adebo is a good fit, the fact is there are better-graded corners on the board still, who are also long like Adebo.

Eric Stokes comes to mind and his absurd 4.25 40-time. So yes, Adebo is taken too high. That said, Adebo does run a great 4.41 in his own right, so it’s not like he’s slow of foot. There’s just someone with super-elite speed still on the board.

This pick also isn’t going to garner too highly, as a defensive tackle is a much bigger need, and Jay Tufele is right there for the taking.

So Adedo does play a position of need and does fit what the Browns would want. Yet, there are better options on the board who do the things the Browns want but better, and while he’s a solid prospect, there isn’t anything that jumps out about him.
