The franchise perception being a “$#!T show” by people in and out of it

The Cavs franchise looks like a mess. Some will argue that it’s just how people see it from the outside looking in, but as Will McAvoy from the HBO show “The Newsroom” once said; “And right there is your problem, ’cause who the f— cares what it looks like from the inside?”. Truer words were never spoken about the Cavs at this juncture.

J.B. Bickerstaff gets the most flack but should get the least. Koby Altman gets a lot but even he’s not the biggest issue. No, the biggest issue is Dan Gilbert, after all, he’s the one who’s been navigating the ship since 2005. Since he’s taken over the team thing hasn’t been great. From the drama with LeBron James to capitulating to him every step of the way, to the constant hiring and firing of head coaches and of course the mismanagement of management.

Sam Amico has quoted several people who talked about how poorly ran the organization really is.

"One source on the inside of the Cavs told FortyEightMinutes that the organization is currently ‘a s— show. I’ve spoken to several players outside of the organization who have expressed similar sentiments."

This is in direct contrast to the flowery speech that Altman gave a week ago when talking about the optimism the franchise has. Some fans will believe it, because they want to, but others will see through the lies.

For all the damage Altman has done, Gilbert’s allowed it. Yeah, the son may have destroyed your car, but the father watched him do it. At a certain point, the boss-man has to be given the blame he’s earned. Until someone else is making decisions, the Cavs organization won’t just fail to be successful but will continue to be a nightmare franchise.

The talk of his son taking over is an optimistic one, but not because he’s a good candidate but because he’s not his father. Cleveland needs new leadership now more than ever, but will that type of help ever come?
