2021 NBA lottery mock draft: Cavs get franchise changer
2. Houston, Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga
The Rockets lost a franchise player in James Harden when they dealt him to the Nets, so they’re a team looking for any and everything.
With that in mind, they look to Jalen Suggs, who showed he was a wining player at the collegiate level, to assume their point guard position.
With Suggs running the point, the Rockets are getting a player who can make any pass, can be lethal with pull-up jumpersp–and oh yeah, he can play defense. Rockets GM Rafael Stone covets two-way players and Suggs fits the bill.
From the Cavs perspective: If they had ended up with the fifth, pick, Cleveland probably would’ve been ecstatic to take him. His intangibles are through the roof. His measurable data adds up, too.
If Houston doesn’t take him, I could see Mobley or Jalen Green being the pick here.
