1. Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward

Denzel Ward’s interception was about as great a pick as you’re going to get from any upper-echelon corner.

Ward is really coming on of late, particularly since Week 6. PFF gave him a coverage grade of 89.1, while quarterbacks have a passer rating of 33.1 when throwing in his direction.

When talking future contract extensions, Baker Mayfield usually takes top billing, but Denzel Ward’s name is right behind his in the conversation.

Ward obviously has the talent, but the main concern is injuries. Do the Browns just have to live with the fact that he’s probably going to miss 2-4 games per season?

If you decide not to extend him, then you’ve got to replace him. Greg Newsome looks very promising, and Greedy Williams has been good after a lost 2020 season. That said, neither is playing at the level of Ward right now.
