Wide Receivers: David Moore and John Brown

Yes, the Browns should sign two wide receivers. Yes, the team is that bad. The Browns need speed at receiver, something they severely lack. Jarvis Landry and this isn’t an insult, just a statistical fact, is as fast as a tight end. That’s being generous as Harrison Bryant and David N’Joku are probably faster. Landry can still catch pretty well, so he isn’t going anywhere. The team should put Anthony Schwartz on IR for the rest of the year, and cut either Rashard Higgins or Ja’Marcus Bradley (or even Donovan Peoples-Jones), and sign David Moore and John Brown.

Both men are free agents and were in bad systems to start the season. They’ve also shown abilities to be second and third receivers, with solid PFF numbers every year up until this year. Moore (4.38) and Brown (4.32) instantly give the Browns some speedsters at the corner for the first time all year.

Since Andrew Berry said the team would always be looking for talent, no matter what point in the season, for him to be sitting on his hands knowing how bad this receiver corp is, is embarrassing. The team would get instantly faster with both guys and the guys on this team could benefit greatly from having this type of athleticism. Plus, it’ll help spread the offense and allow Mayfield someone to throw to when opposing teams stack the box.
