3 good things from the Browns loss to the Packers
By Chad Porto
Nick Chubb
This was Nick Chubb‘s best-looking game in some time. Maybe all season, but that may not be the case. The Packers did have to respect the passing game to a degree, which allowed the Browns to be able to take advantage of their defensive fronts. Chubb was able to cut through some holes and thanks to some key blocks, Chubb was able to bust out a few big plays.
Yet, it wasn’t the big plays that impressed me the most but it was his return to his standard 4-5 yard per carry performances that had disappeared. His best talent is his ability to shake off the first tackler, either by plowing through him or just evading him completely and for some reason, he hadn’t been doing that.
That was something that returned with a vengeance against the Packers.
D’Ernest Johnson looked good at times as well, but Chubb turning just about every touch into some sort of monster game really was needed, not just for the sake of trying to win the game but to prove to the fans that the running game could still be effective.
The Browns need to lean on him a bit over the next two weeks, as the Browns hope to finish with a winning record and keep their diminished playoff hopes alive.
