Who would’ve thought that Sionne Takitaki would’ve been the best draft pick from the Cleveland Browns 2019 NFL Draft? I didn’t. Well, at the time I did. While building the list, I knew it would either be him or Greedy Williams.
Takitaki isn’t a bad player by any means and has out-paced his expectations as a third-round pick. He should be the every-game starter for the Cleveland Browns but he’s often been rotated out by the coaching staff in favor of other guys.
He’s a sure tackler and a solid cover guy, and that’s hard to come by. Sure, he’s not going to be a next-level type of player maker, like Jeremiah Owusu-Koramah, but Takitaki is a good enough player to be the other starter on the outside in 4-3 sets.
He lost reps to fellow linebacker, Anthony Walker, who was shockingly very solid on passing downs but in year four, and his contract year, I’d like to see him get more reps as he certainly deserves them.
