Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are a team in flux just like the rest of these other teams. Unlike most of these teams, however, the Panthers aren’t too far away from competing. If Christian McCaffery can stay healthy, and all of those defensive picks can turn into something worth using, the team may be ready and able to go after a playoff spot in 2022.

After all, the league is full of parody. They just need a quarterback. It’s obvious Sam Darnold isn’t the answer, nor is Cam Newton. The team needs a big-time playmaker at quarterback and that might just be Baker Mayfield.

It certainly isn’t Newton or Darnold. The Panthers getting Mayfield would be a sign that the team feels they can compete, as they wouldn’t just move on from two bad quarterbacks if they simply wanted to tan. There’s no guarantee that Mayfield makes them a playoff team, but they’re certainly in a better position with him at the position than anyone else they have

Granted, Carolina is allegedly not interested but after the whole Deshaun Watson-of-it-all, and Andrew Berry’s “tough, smart accountable” lines, we all know that there is no such thing as a sure thing. All it takes is one voice to get loud enough to navigate the team in a new direction.

They’d have to go and get him some help in the draft, as their receiving corps is a bit light. Without some substantial help on offense, the Panthers would just be wasting assets on the move for Mayfield.
