Most Surprising Cuts

DT Glen Logan

Seeing who the Browns kept on defense and offense was a bit surprising. Keeping on two tight ends? To quote Dodge Ball, it’s a bold strategy, let’s see if it pays off for them. One of the more surprising cuts was that to Glen Logan who had a very solid preseason. He didn’t have an Aaron Donald or Chris Hovan-like performance (there’s a deep cut for you) but Logan was solid and sunk in the line on both pass plays and rush plays. He was hard to move and that’s what you’re looking for from the position.

QB Josh Rosen

Josh Rosen was on this list before he returned to the practice squad, and now that he has, and the team went out and got Kellen Mond anyway, his inclusion is even more curious. Mond is not a good quarterback, getting cut after just one year from being a third-round pick for the Vikings. It’s one thing to draft Rosen and then get Kyler Murray, but the Vikings didn’t draft a huge name in the first round. They just thought Mond was bad at his job. Why get Mond to play quarterback if you wanted Rosen back anyway?

FB Johnny Stanton

Something happened here. He’s a Kevin Stefanski-guy, but he not only got cut in favor of guys like Mond and Anthony Schwartz, but he wasn’t even picked up to be on the practice squad? He had a good preseason too, blocked well, and caught whatever was thrown to him. He literally just wasn’t highlighted enough. So to cut him is peculiar and dare I say, stupid.

OG Blake Hance

Blake Hance did everything right but the glut of guards on the team caused the team to move on from him. He’s already in San Francisco so at least he can still continue his career.
