Kareem Hunt

I think, as far as runners’ go, Kareem Hunt is washed. He may be a good third-down back for someone, maybe even a starter for a bad team, but Hunt is largely a bad runner these days. He’s down 1.1 yards per carry from last year and is averaging a career-worst 3.8 yards per carry. This is despite Nick Chubb having an absolutely dominating season.

It’s not the plays or the offensive line, it’s Hunt. He’s oftentimes far too indecisive and since he’s no longer able to just beat guys with this speed, he’s forced to actually be a running back. He’s constantly trying to stutter-step and juke people but no one falls for it.

Moreover, it seems like isn’t running with any real intensity. Maybe he can’t anymore, or maybe he’s just biding his time until he’s out of Cleveland but Hunt has largely been an utter disappointment since he joined the Browns. He had one year where he broke 1,000 yards from scrimmage, something he should have been doing every year he’s been here. Especially with all the hype around his supposed pass-catching abilities.

He can catch the ball sure, but then it’s like watching syrup drip from a tap.

Hunt needs a huge second half to warrant a contract in Cleveland, or maybe anywhere in the NFL, otherwise, we’ll be talking about the XFL and USFL bidding for his talents.
