Three Good

Timely defenses plays

The Cleveland Browns had some timely defensive plays for the first time all season it felt like. John Johnson III had a huge interception on the very first drive of the game when a completed pass bounced off the hands of the intended receiver and into an awaiting Johnson. Later in the game, Denzel Ward would recover a fumble for a touchdown in a much-needed score. Then Tony Fields had an interception for a touchdown and later a fumble recovery thanks to Jordan Kunaszyk. Considering Myles Garrett made no real impact today, the defense stepping up was a much-needed thing to see.

The Defense stepping up big

As a whole, the defense was just good. They were put in good positions, they had their heads on swivels and they made some really big plays. But they handled their business. While the team may have been in trouble had the Texans not passed so many times, Lovie Smith opted to not focus on the running game, which was working on the Browns early on.

The special teams finally delivering

Big props to Donovan Peoples-Jones and Cade York, who both nearly won the Browns the game. Peoples-Jones had his big punt return for a touchdown, while York was able to nail two big field goals.
