SP Logan Allen

Like with Tanner Bibee, it seems only like a matter of time before Logan Allen makes his way to the big leagues. He had a rough 2022, posting an ERA of 4.88 in 27 games, with most of the damage coming in Triple-A Columbus where his ERA was 6.49. In year two with the  Clippers, however, Allen has seemingly returned to the dominating form that he was at in 2021.

In two starts, he has an ERA of just 0.93 and already has 11 strikeouts. That’s just three fewer than Shane Bieber has, and Beiber has 10.0 more innings pitched. Clearly, Allen is starting to grove down in Columbus.

He’s only given up five hits, one of which was a solo home run, the only run he’s given up so far this year. Allen has all the hype around him and deservedly so. In his two prior years, he threw just 111.1 IP and 132.2 IP and still somehow threw 143 strikeouts in 2021 and 177 strikeouts in 2022.

He’s a flamethrower of a pitcher that mows batters down, and when he’s not adjusting to new situations, is as untouchable as they come. Bibee may be the new hot prospect at the moment, but Allen has just as much “Ace-potential” as Bibee. If both men get called up this year, and they’re both able to deliver on their high scouting reports, the Guardians will be a force like few others.
