3. Dave Taub

No, it is not the Kansas Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who is also being considered for jobs. The former Columbus Destroyers quarterback just missed the list.

Instead, another Chiefs coach made the list: Dave Taub. For whatever reason, the cards have not fallen right for Taub to be an NFL head coach. It is way overdue.

Prior to leading the Chiefs’ special teams unit headlined by wide receiver Tyreek Hill, he was the brains behind the Chicago Bears’ special teams unit led by wide receiver Devin Hester. Not many knew about John Harbaugh before he took the Baltimore Ravens head coaching job. The same can be said for Taub.

Taub is the next Harbaugh. Whichever team he is part of, Taub gets the most out of the groups he is working with. It is not just the coordinators that are head coaching material.

Another example I can compare regarding Taub’s impact is to Pittsburgh Steelers’ Mike Tomlin. Before taking the Steelers job, Tomlin rose through the ranks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings’ coaching staffs on the defensive side of the ball.

Accountability is lacking with the coaching staff and Jackson is a big reason why. With Taub in charge, that would change. According to CBS Sports‘ Jason La Canfora via an NFL head coach, the following praise was expressed:

"He’s a combination of Harbaugh and John Madden. He is the real deal. This guy can coach. Period. He’s a big guy, physically, who can take over a room when he has to. He gets people to buy in."

If you haven’t already, watch on YouTube some of the players Taub has coached, how they react based off the formation that’s called and more. Before you know it, Taub will be a head coach. If only it was in Cleveland.

Especially since Dorsey worked with him, this could have been the best coaching change this offseason.
